Every now and then, my mom makes our family’s pasta and “gravy,” which is her traditional slow-braised tomato meat sauce. It’s packed with pork ribs, meatballs, and braciole, and it’s just the best. My favorite way to enjoy it is with fusilli lunghi, topped with Pecorino Romano and ricotta cheese, along with warm Italian sesame twist bread. This dish really takes me back to my childhood. Whenever I was living overseas, it was always the meal I requested on my trips back home.
